The 47th Volksgrenadier Division was a volksgrenadier division of the Heer (German Army) during the Second World War, active from 1944 to 1945.
The division was formed in Denmark in September 1944, by redesignating the 577. Volksgrenadier-Division, under the command of Max Bork. It contained the 103rd, 104th and 115th Grenadier Regiments, and the 147th Artillery Regiment.[1]
The division was committed to combat in the Battle of Hürtgen Forest and the Battle of Aachen, where it took heavy casualties. It remained in action on the Western Front, until it was destroyed in March 1945.[1]
